RATIONAL OF THE PROGRAMES :

MASEKA or Malam Secangkir Kasih is a ceremony to celebrate the final year students of FSTM which will be soon graduated. This ceremony was being attended by all the final years’ students and award winner which also being selected from the final year students itself. Generally, this ceremony also intended to create a strong bond among students and the staff. This ceremony also being as the medium to enhanced the personality of students to be shine in many fields. The award’s winner was being choose based on academic and co-curriculum achievements. This program was being supported and got the cooperation from the faculty itself and UPM. The support and cooperation given helps to ensure this program done successfully. Furthermore, it also driven the smoothness in the flows of event and the objective of this program could be well achieved. MASEKA also being the gathering for all the final years students and strengthen the bonds between them.

RATIONAL OF THE PROGRAMME:

Malam Permata Iman (MPI) is an Islamic motivational night which include Yassin recital, doa selamat and solat hajat. This ceremony is specially conducted for all students as the spiritual preparation before entering Final Semester Examination for semester 2 sessions 2012/2013. MPI is also being the medium to strengthen the bond between all the students especially all the FOSTECH’S members. This program also helps to train the committee to build organizational skills especially team works and leadership skills. The Islamic concept that was being implemented in this program actually managed to make all the students spiritually ready to seat for the examination. The intention of this program is also to inject all the students with good values of Islam such as hardworking and never felt despair in order to achieve the excellent in life and the day after. The adaptation of religious concept is actually being a good therapy to reduce the stress and make the students become relax. Therefore, they could perform well in examination.

3. NEW STUDENTS INTAKE

RATIONAL OF THE PROGRAMME:

FSTM new students’ registration day is a program with the collaboration of FOSTECH and the faculty’s administration to welcoming the new students of FSTM. This program also held to complete the registration of the students based on their program of studies offered by the faculty. FOSTECH’s members were being ordered to guide all the new students to ease the registration process. Other than that, FOSTECH is also responsible to guide all the students to use the students’ information system (SMP). This includes tutorial how to use the system, courses registration and many other features in that system. FOSTECH is also being given special slot to promote the association by explaining about past and incoming events. This program also could gain the clarity of the association’s backgrounds and the role of top boards of the association.

RATIONAL OF THE PROGRAMME:

This meeting was the first meeting of the semester which involved the participation from all the FOSTECH’s members. This meeting is also being the medium to welcoming all of the new members of FOSTECH and allow them to mingle with senior members. The agenda of that night is to encourage the participation from all members to join and supports every FOSTECH events. FOSTECH’s top board also managed to make the programs interesting to join by added the varieties of it. Other agenda being discussed on that night is about the introduction and explanations about the newly design FOSTECH’s corporate attire.

RATIONAL OF THE PROGRAMME:

ENGLISH BUDDIES PROGRAM second edition is a program organized by the BAHAGIAN PENGURUSAN SUMBER FSTM with the collaboration from FOSTECH. This program is specially organized for the form 5 students from SMK NENASI, PEKAN, and PAHANG. This school is also the foster school of the faculty. This program was held at Hutan Simpan Upm, Puchong for 3days and 2nights. The significant of these programs is to enhance and improves the skills of these students to write and speak in English.  This program was being conducted by eleven facilitators which act as mentor and security team to ensure the smoothness of the flow of the program. The activities chosen include all the basic skills in mastering the English language and interactive learning concept was being implemented throughout the program. This concept was chosen as to attract the interest and attention of the students to learn English language much faster and efficient. Next, they also being arranged a special trip to UPM and witnessed the convocation ceremony. This program also could strengthen the bond between the faculty and the school. Furthermore, this program also trained students to be well rounded and good in interpersonal skills as well contributes to the society.

6. VISIT TO VITTAGEN

RATIONAL OF THE PROGRAMME:

In the past year, we have conducted an educational field trip to the Malaysia Milk Sdn Bhd and Cotra Entreprises Sdn Bhd, located in Petaling Jaya. Those are basically the same company that processed and distributed various kinds of drinks to the Malaysian, which are Vitagen and Marigold Milk. This field trip is held to gain knowledge to the students about how they processed the product in the factory and how they retain the freshness of the milk from the factory to the consumers. We also want to educate the students about the importance and benefits of drinking cultured milk and the significance it has in maintaining the flora of the intestines. It is held in 31st October 2013 at 2.30 pm. About 44 students from different course join the field trip. We are brought around the factory first to see how the process occurs. Then we are briefed all about the product, the history and also the significance. After that are the Q & A session, followed by a mini quiz. Five Vitagen products are given to the winner. They offer snacks to us before we leave. In the end, we take commemoration photos before leave.

RATIONAL OF THE PROGRAMME:

FOSMILY DAY is the family day of FSTM which is aimed to strengthen the bond between the students. This program involved from the participation of first year and second year students of FSTM and being organized by FOSTECH. Other than that, this program also intended to take out the students from the campus life and enjoy the panoramic scenery at other places. This program also trained students to implement the interpersonal skill which is encouraged by the Ministry Of Higher Education. From this program, students were not just need being stick to the stress of studying but they also could gain memories and knowledge in this out campus program.

RATIONAL OF THE PROGRAMME:

WALKATHON ALUMNI 2013 is one of the program organized by Persatuan Mahasiswa Fakulti Sains & Teknologi Makanan (FOSTECH) aims to strengthen the relationship between alumni students, current students, faculty staff, academic staff and representative of the food industry. This program was held on 21st December  2013 at the parking area facing the building Food 3, Faculty of Food Science and Tecchnology. In addition to exposing the current students to be superimposed on the field of food technology individuals who are already in this field. The program also aims to continue to collect the charity funds for alumni of the Faculty of Science and Food Technology (FSTM). Every year the alumni committee of faculty will organize activities for its members such as Alumni Dinner held in 2011 and the Food For Fund in 2012. This program are made to continue the activities held each year for students alumni FSTM. It also held concurrently with the Food Products Development Launching activities organized by the Department of Food Technology. In addition, this program as an effort to encourage a healthy lifestyle to faculty members and to enjoy the panoramic environment at the faculty and university areas. Through programs such as this can provide an opportunity for everyone to create an experience which will not to be forgotten. The total of 39 participants took part in this program.
