The field of food manufacturing plays a vital role as a key pillar of the downstream agriculture industry and a major contributor to the national economy. This field requires a large number of skilled manpower capable of managing food manufacturing operations. Hence, the Bachelor of Science in Food Manufacturing Operations with Honours is specially designed to meet the demand for skilled professionals in this industry. This programme consists of 131 credits: 3 years at the university (105 credits) and 1 year in the food manufacturing industry (26 credits). The programme not only emphasizes knowledge but also exposes students to actual food manufacturing operations in large-scale industries for a duration of one year (two semesters). General University Requirements

1. Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) / Equivalent Candidates

1. Passed the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) / equivalent with good results.
2. Passed with credit in Malay Language / Malaysia Language at the SPM / equivalent level.
3. Passed the STPM examination with a minimum: Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in General Studies; and Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in two (2) other subjects.
4. Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

1. Equivalent Qualification Candidates

1. Passed SPM / equivalent with good results;
2. Credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Melayu at the SPM / equivalent level;
3. Hold other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian government and approved by the University Senate;
4. Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET);

1. Minimum Qualifications for Matriculation / Foundation Studies in Science UM / Foundation in Agricultural Science UPM / UTM Foundation Year Candidates

1. Passed the SPM / equivalent with good results.
2. Passed with credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Melayu at the SPM / equivalent level.
3. Passed Matriculation / Foundation Studies in Science UM / Foundation in Agricultural Science UPM / UTM Foundation Year with a minimum CGPA of 2.0.
4. Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

Programme-Specific Requirements

• Passed with at least Grade B (CGPA 3.0) in one (1) of the Chemistry or Physics subjects.
• Passed with credit in one (1) Science subject at the SPM level.

Alternative Qualification as STPM

Candidates who present the following qualifications or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Senate as a substitute for STPM may apply to be considered for this programme.

1. Diploma in a relevant field from UPM or other institutions recognized by the government.

Academic Requirements

International applicants must possess a qualification equivalent to the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) or a Diploma recognized by the Malaysian Government.

Equivalent Qualifications

1. Passed O-level / equivalent.
2. Passed A-level with at least: Grade C in three (3) subjects.
3. Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or a minimum score of 550 in TOEFL or a score of 6 in the IELTS exam.

AND have met the special requirements for this programme, i.e., achieving the required grades in (science/arts) as stipulated for each Bachelor’s degree programme at UPM.

Or Equivalent Qualification

1. Passed Higher School Certificate (HSC) / equivalent with at least: Grade C+ in three (3) subjects or 65% in three (3) subjects at the Final Secondary Education Level.
2. Passed the University Entrance Examination (for countries that require it for university admission).
3. Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or a minimum score of 550 in TOEFL or a score of 6 in the IELTS exam.

AND have met the special requirements for this programme, i.e., achieving the required grades in (science/arts) as stipulated for each Bachelor’s degree programme at UPM.

Or Equivalent Qualification
