SERDANG, 3 April 2026 – The Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM), Universiti Putra Malaysia has organized a Briefing Session for New Postgraduate Research Students for the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Session, which was held online via the Zoom platform.

The program, which is compulsory for all new Master’s and PhD research students, aims to provide early exposure regarding the study structure, academic requirements, supervision processes, as well as study management procedures throughout the research period at the faculty.   The briefing session was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rabiha binti Hj. Sulaiman, Deputy Dean (Graduate, Research and Innovation) of FSTM, who also delivered a welcoming speech to the new students and a comprehensive explanation regarding the journey of research-based studies.

Through this session, students are able to understand more clearly the role of supervisors, important study timelines, compliance with university academic regulations, as well as the official communication channels that must be used throughout their period of study.

The faculty hopes that the organization of such briefing sessions will help the adjustment process of new students to be smoother while supporting the excellence of postgraduate studies at the faculty.
