SERDANG, 24 June 2026 – The Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) extends its highest congratulations and deepest pride on the success of two FSTM students, Mr. Giroon Ijod and Ms. Afiefah binti Zulkifli, who have been selected as recipients of the prestigious Yang di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship (BYDPA) 2026 for their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) studies in the field of Nutrition.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship (BYDPA) is one of the most prestigious scholarships in Malaysia, awarded to outstanding postgraduate students who demonstrate exceptional academic excellence, leadership potential, and a high level of commitment to their respective fields of study and research.

This achievement is a highly honorable recognition, not only for the recipients but also for elevating the reputation of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology and Universiti Putra Malaysia at the national level.

The entire FSTM community expresses its gratitude and pride over this achievement, which proves the capability of the faculty's students to compete and achieve excellence at the highest level in academics and research.

May Mr. Giroon Ijod continue to excel and achieve even greater success throughout his studies under the supervision of Dr. Ezzat Mohamad Azman from the Department of Food Technology, Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

At the same time, may Ms. Afiefah binti Zulkifli also continue to progress and achieve excellence throughout her studies under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noranizan Mohd Adzahan from the Department of Food Technology, Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

This success is hoped to serve as an inspiration to all FSTM students to continue striving, innovating, and strengthening a culture of academic excellence, research, and high-impact human capital development.
