BANDAR ENSTEK, 30 JUNE 2025 – A total of 59 Food Science & Technology students have visited monosodium glutamate (MSG) packaging and seasonings production zones at a newly built Ajinomoto facility. Students were guided by Ajinomoto representatives, Mr. Norazmi Mohamad and Mr. Bay to explore the food processing areas and visitors gallery. The tour was fully packed with information sharing, video presentations and observations on cutting-edge processing equipments at Ajinomoto.
This visit is aimed at giving wholesome exposure to the Food Quality Management (FST4612) enrollees on the food safety and quality system, owing to Ajinomoto’s achievement in obtaining key certifications in food industry. Products from Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad are halal- and HACCP-certified. Recently, the company has sucessfully obtained one of the prestigious certifications in food industry, which is FSSC 22000.
Following the tour, several students have been invited for a sensory test of soup products and cooking demonstration. This visit was also joined by Associate Professor Dr. Rashidah Sukor, Dr. Sarina Abdul Halim Lim and Dr. Nurul Hawa Ahmad, who are the instructors for FST4612 course.
