SENAWANG, 6 January 2026 - A total of 18 third-year students from the Bachelor of Food Manufacturing Operations Science (BSOPM) programme participated in an industrial visit to the Charoen Pokphand (CP) Foods processing facility located in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan. The visit was accompanied by Dr. Sarina Abdul Halim Lim and Dr. Nurul Hawa Ahmad, and aimed to provide industry exposure and practical experience to complement the theoretical knowledge acquired in the course Food Quality and Standards in Food Processing (FMO4602).

The visit began with a briefing by Ms. Syeedatul Imma Said, who introduced the history of the establishment, as well as the vision and mission of the CP facility. Students were also exposed to the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and best Halal practices through a video presentation. This session was followed by an interactive question-and-answer segment. Subsequently, the students were taken to observe the processing of chicken nuggets and marinated chicken products via a designated viewing gallery. At the end of the visit, students were given the opportunity to sample several chicken products manufactured by CP Foods.

Overall, the visit provided valuable insights into the implementation of food safety management systems and highlighted their importance within the food processing industry. In addition, the visit helped to broaden students’ professional networks, thereby enhancing future career opportunities in the food industry.
