Postgraduate International Mobility Program between the Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM), UPM and the School of Agro Industry, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), Thailand

Chiang Rai, 8–12 February 2026: The MFU–UPM International Mobility Program was held from 8 to 12 February 2026 in Chiang Rai, Thailand. The program involved the Dean of FSTM, several lecturers, and postgraduate students from the Master by Coursework programmes, MFT and MFS. Its main aim was to expose students to international food safety practices, agricultural industries, and academic collaboration. Participants departed from KLIA on 8 February, arrived in Chiang Mai, and continued their journey to Mae Fah Luang University (MFU).

On the second day, participants joined a campus tour and visited MFU’s laboratory facilities. They then attended two lectures: one on food safety in Thailand, focusing on GHP and HACCP, and another on Malaysian Food Regulation. The day ended with a welcoming dinner and networking session between MFU and UPM representatives.

The third day included an industrial visit to Happy Plus Ice Cream to observe ice cream production and hygiene practices. After lunch, the group visited World Grow Organic Farm to learn about organic farming and sustainable agricultural operations. The day concluded with a cultural tour around Chiang Rai city.

On the fourth day, participants visited Papa Pineapple Farm & Café to explore pineapple product development and small‑scale agribusiness activities. After lunch, they continued to Singha Park Chiang Rai, a major agritourism site featuring large‑scale plantation operations.

On the final day, participants had some free time in the morning before departing for Chiang Mai International Airport for their return flight to Kuala Lumpur. The group arrived safely at KLIA, marking the successful completion of the five‑day mobility program, which provided valuable learning, industry exposure, and cultural enrichment.
