MS 1514:2022 GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICE (GMP) UNDERSTANDING & IMPLEMENTING COURSE

14 September 2023 - Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM) in collaboration with SIRIM STS Sdn. Bhd. has organized the course MS1514:2022 Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Understanding & Implementing on 13 to 14 September 2023 located in Graduate Lecture Room 1, Food Building 5, FSTM. The organization of this course is the second time it has been held where the first course was held in 2019.

 

A total of 22 participants consisting of graduate students, lecturers and private agencies have attended this course. Among the private institutions and agencies involved in participating in this course are the National Sports Council, Krawang Enterprise, Ramly Food Marketing Sdn. Bhd., Gleneagles Hospital Kota Kinabalu, Simpang Food Processing Sdn. Bhd, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences UPM, Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences UPM and FSTM itself.


This course, which was delivered by a speaker from SIRIM STS, namely Puan Lizawati bt Mohamad Darwi, has received positive feedback from the participants. Among the objectives of this course is to be able to provide awareness and understanding to participants related to the implementation of the new GMP standard, to provide knowledge about the importance of food safety, the requirements and methods of its implementation and to build a good network and relationship between the university and the food industry.
