Department of Food Technology was established on March 01, 1982. With its inception, the Department has pioneered the teaching, research and consultancy in the field of food processing and engineering. It offers facilities like Pilot Plant, latest food processing and complete sensory laboratory.
The Department of Food Technology is responsible for offering the Bachelor of Science in Food Studies with Honours (BSPMKDK), with two specializations: Food Management and Food Marketing, as well as the Bachelor of Science in Food Operations and Manufacturing with Honours (BSOPMDK).
Department also offers a Master and Doctor of Philosophy with a thesis in the field of Processing and Food Engineering and Master of Food Technology program through course work.
