Serdang, 16 December 2025 – The Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM) was honored to receive a courtesy call and official visit from the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) delegation on Tuesday, 16 December 2025. The delegation was represented by the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition (FSMP), UMS. This visit serves as a strategic initiative for both institutions to strengthen academic cooperation networks and exchange views and best practices in the management of postgraduate programs.

The primary objective of the visit was to conduct benchmarking activities regarding the implementation and structure of the Master by Coursework programs offered by FSTM. This benchmarking process is vital for FSMP UMS as a reference in their efforts to enhance existing postgraduate programs, ensuring they remain competitive and aligned with industry requirements as well as current higher education standards. The discussion focused on curriculum aspects, teaching and learning methods, and program assessments.

This significant visit was attended by three (3) representatives from Universiti Malaysia Sabah. The FSMP UMS delegation was led by Prof. Ts. Dr. Hasmadi Mamat, who currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition, UMS. His presence, along with the other delegation members, demonstrates UMS's serious commitment to ensuring the quality and academic excellence of the programs they offer.
