On 8th March 2020, the Faculty, with the assistance of the Faculty’s Students’ Union (FOSTECH), has organised the FoodMatch 2020. The main objective of this event was to screen for potential student representatives to the 12th National Food Science and Technology Competition 2021 which will be organised by the Malaysian Institute of Food Technology in Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC). Mirroring the actual MIFT competition, FoodMatch too had two different categories which were run simultaneously throughout the event. The categories were Food Bowl Quiz and Oratory Competition. This event was officiated by Prof. Dr. Nazamid Saari (the Dean) who reminded the participants to always strive for newer and deeper knowledge in food science and technology so as to remain relevant for the food industry. Dr. Rozzamri Ashari and Dr. Noor Liyana Yusof, who were among the lecturers that accompanied the FSTM delegation in the previous 11th National Food Science and Technology Competition 2019, were invited as the judges. More than 60 students from all undergraduate programs have participated in this event.
