FSTM UPM Enhances Digital Presence Through Faculty Website Strengthening Workshop

SERDANG, 14 JANUARY 2026 – The Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) successfully organized an extensive Website Enhancement Workshop held at Graduate Lecture Room 2, Food 5. The program, which commenced at 8:30 AM with a registration and breakfast session, was part of a strategic initiative to audit and empower the faculty's official digital platform. This effort is crucial in ensuring that the faculty’s online presence remains a reliable and high-quality source of information for all stakeholders.

The workshop was attended by a dedicated group of staff members appointed as the Faculty Website Committee, representing various departments including the Dean’s Office, the Deputy Deans' Offices, and the Departments of Food Science, Food Technology, and Food Service Management. To facilitate a productive hands-on experience, all committee members were required to bring their personal laptops for the technical training modules. Notable participants included senior academic and administrative staff who are responsible for the digital governance of their respective units.

The core training was led by Mrs. Zurayawati Binti Sulaiman, an Information Technology Officer from the InfoComm Development Centre (iDEC). She provided an in-depth analysis of the FSTM website's current performance and ranking, while outlining the essential criteria for maintaining a top-tier academic website. This session allowed the committee to engage in direct practical exercises to refine the faculty's web structure and content management.

In the afternoon, the committee focused on the strategic distribution of website management tasks for the upcoming year of 2026. The workshop, which was officially coordinated by the Chief Assistant Registrar, Noraihan Noordin, concluded at 4:30 PM following a comprehensive summary and wrap-up session. This successful event reflects the faculty's unwavering commitment to the "Berilmu Berbakti" motto, aiming for excellence in digital services and academic communication.
