INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO MAEPS PIONEER CHEESE PROCESSING PLANT

SERI KEMBANGAN, 12 JUNE 2025 – On Thursday, 12 June 2025, an industrial visit to the MAEPS Pioneer Cheese Processing Plant in Serdang was organized under the FST4836 – Dairy Technology course for the 2024/2025 academic session. A total of 24 students from FSTM, accompanied by 2 lecturers and 3 laboratory assistants, participated in this visit. The objective was to provide hands-on exposure to the process of making fresh mozzarella cheese and to introduce potential career opportunities in the dairy industry. Participants had the chance to observe the entire production process — from the arrival of fresh milk, addition of starter culture, curd formation, to the stretching phase that gives the cheese its glossy surface. Students also witnessed the manual shaping of mozzarella into balls and their immersion in cold water to maintain the desired shape and texture. This visit not only reinforced theoretical knowledge through practical application but also broadened students’ perspectives on the local dairy product processing industry.
