8 JUNE - The Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM) received a Benchmarking Visit from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Kuala Pilah Campus, Negeri Sembilan Branch. Diploma in Food Technology (AS116) and Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Food Science and Technology (AS246) from UiTM intend to hold a Benchmarking Visit with FSTM programmes; Bachelor of Science and Food Technology with Honors (PG09) and Bachelor of Science (Food Studies) with Honors (PG17). This is because the AS116 and AS246 Programs have been successfully recognized by the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT) in September 2020. Academic programs that have successfully obtained such recognition must conduct benchmarking visits to other Institutions of Higher Learning that offer similar or nearly similar academic programs to meet clause 9.7.4 - Benchmarking enshrined in the Technology and Technical Manual (TTAC) MBOT 2019.

A total of six representatives of the UiTM delegation together with eight representatives from the FSTM including the Deputy Dean of the Academic and Student Affairs Division (BAHEP), Chief Assistant Registrar, Head of Department, Senior Lecturer, and BAHEP staff have shared knowledge and experience in the objective of making comparison and self -improvement of their program against the seven criteria set by the MBOT.
